For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In our day and age ,there seems to be a famine of the word of God.
An intense spiritual drought, a merciless heat scorching both the matured and the tender plants and shoots of God’s word that have been implanted in the souls of men. This is especially common in our younger generation of Christ followers or Christians. Not just those young in age physically but young in spiritual knowledge and understanding.
There seems to be little or no hunger for God nor craving for the word.
That intense hunger that makes you feel as if you are addicted to something is sadly lacking in our day.
That state of being where if you have not read the word, you don’t feel whole -you feel incomplete!
Someone [Job] said the word of God is more important than necessary food.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
Is it so with us?
It should be!
As the bible says in Hebrews 8:10,God has written His word in our hearts.
In the old testament the word was being read to the people and so they would forget after a while because the human auditory memory lasts only for a short span of time.
So God made a new covenant which was prophesied in Jeremiah 31:33, fulfilled in Christ and confirmed in Hebrews 8:10;10:16.
This means that God engraves His word in the heart of anyone and everyone who has taken up the commitment to follow Christ and agreed to the spiritual contract of the new covenant.
Meaning that God by Himself has engraved His word in His own handwriting on the tablets of our heart not on mere stone or paper as in times of old but the script is inscribed into our own very soul!
In modern day terms this simply means that a chip or memory card has been loaded into our system which contains the word of God.
Or better still that the word of God is an application that He has downloaded into our soul for us by Himself.-WOW!
And we know of course that the bible is indeed an app that we download on our electronic devices today.
God is saying that instead of the device His word is downloaded directly into our minds!
Is this our reality today?
Why then do so many who profess God seem to be so ignorant of the word of God. So unknowledgeable about principles in the scriptures?
When an app is installed, it also has to be opened or else it just lies there dormant.
The physical word of God has to be opened and read to activate the one that is already installed internally.
This means that we need to read the word of God physically for the internal memory to be established.
Therefore, the physical and continuous reading or studying of the word of God is what activates and updates the internal storage[of the word] that God Himself already uploaded in us!
READ YOUR BIBLE EVERYDAY!
